For some children, it may be a daily battle. Another example is the application of social skills training to social phobia or shyness. At a the last health fair I attended I met a mother who told me that her son who is on the autistic spectrum said, “Mom, I always feel like there is something I am missing and I just don’t know what it is.” All children want to fit in. Are you tired of asking your kids what they learned after school or an education function and they say “I don’t know” or “nothing!” At our groups parents come in to the last 15 minutes of the session and the students earn more points for telling them what they learned!

Students will identify unacceptable social behaviors and then describe how to replace those behaviors with acceptable behaviors.
